As a nonprofit organization, the purpose of the Roxbury Orchestra Parents Association, its
committees, and its affiliated programs shall be to promote orchestra, school and community spirit
as set forth in the following statements:
- To stimulate student, parent, and community intrest in recognition, appreciation, and support of the Roxbury District schools orchestra programs
- To encourage orchestra members with a positive spirit, unity, and team work
- To assist in the development of the Roxbury District schools orchestra programs as a character building institution
- To assist the Roxbury District schools orchestra programs with moral and material support
- To assist in activities and programs beneficial to the positive future of the Roxbury District schools orchestra programs while not encroaching on the inherent responsibilty of the school's administration and authority
- To provide for student members of the Roxbury District schools orchestra programs those things over and above that which is provided by the school administration
- To play, organize, and carry out fundraising and act as a financial entity responsible for the benefit of the Roxbury District orchestra programs
- To provide for a means for positive and informative communications between student members, instructors, school administration, parents, and other interested parties
